Workshop theme: Global Networking
This year’s Graduate Students Forum addresses the theme of Global Networking and the importance of building connections during and after graduate study. It includes two interactive panel discussions and informal networking time.
Panel 1 - In conversation
Elizabeth Kirk (University of Dundee, Scotland) joins Robert Kibugi (University of Nairobi, Kenya) and Nengye Liu (University of Kiel, Germany) in conversation to draw out the issues and challenges facing graduate students in the development and maintenance of global networks. This session will be followed by Q&A facilitated by Elizabeth Kirk.
Panel 2 - You are not alone! Building global networks during your PhD
Justice Brian Preston (NSW Land and Environment Court, Australia) leads a team of global networkers, diplomatic travellers and cultural engagement commentators through an exploration of global networking benefits, strategies, issues and challenges. Panelists include Al Gillespie (University of Waikato, New Zealand), Nilufer Oral (Istanbul Bilgi University, Turkey) and Robert Makgill (Barrister & Solicitor, North South Environmental Law, New Zealand). This session will be followed by Q&A facilitated by Justice Preston.
