The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that the Distinguished Scholar lecture 2013 will be presented by Mas Achmad Santosa, Deputy Minister/Deputy Head President's Delivery Unit for Development Monitoring & Oversight, Republic of Indonesia, on Wednesday 26 June: 7.00pm-8.00pm.
Mas Achmad Santosa is currently Deputy Head of President's Delivery Unit for Development Monitoring and Oversight (UKP4). In the same time he is also Head of the Working Group on Legal Review and Law Enforcement of The Indonesia's Task Force on REDD+ and senior lecturer on environmental law at the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia.
Prior to the current position, between 2009-2011 he was a member of Presidential Task Force on Anti Judicial Mafia. During 2006-2011 He was senior Advisor for Access to Justice in UNDP Indonesia. In 2009-2010 he was the co-coordinator of the development of the National Strategy on Access to Justice. In 2009 he was appointed by the President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as Acting Commissioner of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Prior to his public official duties, he actively engaged with various civil society organizations as Board members of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation; Indonesian Centre for Environmental Law (ICEL), Greenpeace Southeast Asia; Biodiversity Foundation, Indonesian Institute for Judicial Independence, etc.
He frequently appointed as member of public official selection committee (to appoint, i.e., anti-corruption ad hoc judges, constitutional court justices, prosecutorial commissioners, corruption eradication commissioners, witness protection commissioners, etc.). He wrote several books and articles published in national and international journal, magazine and newsletters on environmental law, good governance, rule of law and anti corruption related topics.
The Distinguished Scholar Reception and Lecture will be followed by the annual Colloquium wine tasting event: Wednesday 26 June: 8.00pm-10.00pm.
